Web Trends Map 2008

Web Trends Map 2008

These kind of illustrations makes me weak at the knees. A piece like this takes you at least a minute or two to fully grasp. What is it? It’s a Web Trends Map. Based on the Tokyo-area train map, it is a meticulous display of 300 of the worlds most popular websites. I’m gonna try swoop some cash out of the budget this year and get the A0 copy for our office. Now that would be neat.

Here is a preview of the design, still in beta stages.

  2. They are killer indeed. It’s the whole semantic, interconnectivity and vector layouts that do it for me. So ye, gonna bend some arms at work and get one for the office.

Digital Bureau in Loop St (Cape Town) will do the first print at R30, and subsequent prints at R9 each – all ex vat. If anyone wants a print let me know, I’m going to do 2 or 3 this afternoon…

An emotional moment comes as I finally polish up this LONG overdue theme for my site. Many things can attribute to this theme taking well over 6 month to complete. Among those are the love/hate relationship I have with design, the lack of focus and the need to get everything perfect. My site is not perfect. [...] read more

District 9 out of 9

District 9 out of 9
This past week I went to go see District 9 again. The make of any good movie is one that you can watch twice in quick succession only to appreciate it even more. The subtle South African flavor coupled with a unique story, told in an uncanny documentary style fashion made for an enjoyable second [...] read more

WordPress setting sail…

I’m glad to see that from all the Google Summer of Code applicants, WordPress got eight students to work alongside them on what it to be the next generation of WordPress improvements. Qwitter, it hurts…

Qwitter, it hurts…
Lately I’ve been getting lots of twitter followers. I think it’s mostly because of my recent move to WooThemes and thus I’ve refrained from over posting to twitter. I really don’t want to seem like a loony toon who tells people what he had for breakfast, and only try sharing stuff that are genuinely cool [...] read more

Ubuntu for the very 1st time

I've recently run into some crippling Windows problems. And it was, worst of all, effecting my Internet access when I need it so desperately, like so many fellow South Africans. Moving to mac has crossed my mind, but I opted to go to a free place. A place where operations and function, roam freely. Linux. read more

Unmoderated…

I currently have 110 unmoderated comments. Yes, I have a filter enabled and yes, I might have a few spam comments. Majority comes from my themes I realeased. They, luckely, will all be moving to ThemeSmith. More streamlining to do on my behalf. I apologize if you we’re caught up in that.  read more

Turning inwards and creating wealth

What I have now works for me here on Foxinni.com. But it has to evolve into what I have become over the past two years. Now that I have the skills to do what I want… I’m intending on doing exactly that. No More! No more over zealous blogging causing a once a zillion years blog post, [...] read more
