Then in the Value field add only the code of the video. Usually very easy to find in the address bar of the video you want to add.

If the video you wanted embed into your post was: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbgySMqRO1Y

  • Key: youtube
  • Value: vbgySMqRO1Y

If you wanted to embed your own hosted FLV video into your post use the direct url:

  • Key: custom
  • Value: http://<youraddress>/wp-content/videos/video.flv

Please note that the video does not need to have any predefined directory, just a direct address.

Here is an example of what you must do with Meta Cafe videos:

Limitations

This theme was not made for blogging. If you do make a post and not add a video, there will just be a large gap where the video is suppose to go. Also, a posts content can’t be too much otherwise it might out grow the length of the video block. Sorry about that.

This theme was sponsored by Videos.Blueworld.co.za.

Graffiti - Ireland http://foxinni.com/graffiti/graffiti-ireland/ http://foxinni.com/graffiti/graffiti-ireland/#comments Tue, 06 May 2008 08:52:51 +0000 Foxinni http://foxinni.com/?p=201 This past December is was fortunate enough to do some traveling in Ireland. Upon visiting Belfast and Dublin, I took some pictures (actually my girlfriend did) of the native graffiti artwork. There were some really interesting and funky pieces. Take a look and click on the pictures for a bigger view.

Google Artist Themes now available http://foxinni.com/web-news/google-artist-themes/ http://foxinni.com/web-news/google-artist-themes/#comments Wed, 30 Apr 2008 08:11:52 +0000 Foxinni http://foxinni.com/?p=171 Google released their new artist themes for the iGoogle platform today. An excellent break away from the previously polished and somewhat limited few themes.

Something that Google has done this time round is introduce an artist selection that includes a ton of “branded” themes. Themes like Lance Armstrong, Beastie Boys, Coldplay, Jackie Chan and Dolce&Gabbana.

Google Artist Themes

But as much as I like themes, I never really got used to iGoogle and prefer to just stick to the simple services. Maybe I don’t really know how to constructively make use of the iGoogle platform, or Netvibes, or Pageflakes for that matter. Have you?

Breaking a sweat over 2.5 http://foxinni.com/wordpress/breaking-a-sweat-over-25/ http://foxinni.com/wordpress/breaking-a-sweat-over-25/#comments Thu, 24 Apr 2008 08:08:29 +0000 Foxinni http://foxinni.com/?p=166 I’m a firm believer that upgrading is for the better. And will blindly jump where Wordpress wants me too. I’m sure many individuals has taken the leap and upgraded to Wordpress 2.5.

I did and i could not be happier that i did. But in the same breath I’d just like to talk about the issues I had. Upgrading to Wordpress 2.3.3 was fairly easy… same version so no surprise. But with Wordpress 2.5 there was a snag or two.

Firstly:

The Wordpress Image Uploader Issue has been very troublesome for certain individuals. Mine did not work but a quick fix, all be it somewhat advance one, sorted that out. Others, were not so lucky.

Secondly:

My Theme Downloads seized to work. I have been using the WP-Download Manger and it forms a huge part of my blogs life line to the Wordpress Community. There was no “Upgrade Automatically” nor an Upgrade announcement. The sweat started forming.

Thank the lord Google came to my rescue and it tracked down all of Gamerz updated plugins for WP 2.5. Here you can find a list of Gamerz’s Wordpress Plugin Updates. There are a list of several popular plugins, so please have a look.

Upgrading is still the way to go… even in the face of uncertainty. Best of luck to you all. Please keep a lookout for Wordpress 2.5.1

Wordpress 2.5 Image Uploading Solution http://foxinni.com/wordpress/wordpress-25-image-uploading-solution/ http://foxinni.com/wordpress/wordpress-25-image-uploading-solution/#comments Wed, 23 Apr 2008 16:56:11 +0000 Foxinni http://foxinni.com/?p=164 It seems like there is a bit of a hole in Wordpress 2.5, and a big one if you consider uploading images important. If you want the quick solution just skip till you hit the list.

So why would they change it? The new unloader boast with a uploader progress bar, more image resizing settings, multiple file upload (!) and it all comes together and forms a Gallery feature. I have not explored it in depth but it should be pretty cool if you have a need for it. It also supports audio and video. Now that a whole lot of eggs in one basket!

Unfortunately due to the early release of Wordpress 2.5 there is major issues with the uploader. I personally got a error “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later” and for friends it just plain did not want to work with the all fixes installed. Here is a quick “How to Fix my Wordpress 2.5 Image uploader” list summerized.

Now actually try solve the problem:

  • Re-upload you files for WP 2.5 ( Very common issue)
  • mod_security might be causing problems. Just add this to your .htaccess file in the root of your site and reupload it. This Fixed the uploader for me!

    <IfModule mod_security.c>
    SecFilterEngine Off

    SecFilterScanPOST Off
    </IfModule>

That will disable it for the entire wp-admin directory. It’s possible to be more specific about it, this is just a quick and easy test to see if mod_security is causing your issues.

  • Exception to #1: Call to undefined function: ctype_digit(). Download and upload this file: link-template.php
  • Clear your browser cache, restart your browser twice. Also clear /wp-content/uploads/js_cache directory on your site.
  • Update your Flash version (Esp. Linux)
  • IE has specific known issues. Download these two files, replace them in your WordPress installation: IE-Fix
  • No buttons? Plugin with Javascript and/or jQuery can cause the issue. Disable your plugins and see if the buttons appear. Upgrade you plugins and try seek out the one causing the error.

If none of the above worked for you then there are some furthur reading:

First look at the new Foxinni.com http://foxinni.com/network-news/first-look-at-the-new-foxinnicom/ http://foxinni.com/network-news/first-look-at-the-new-foxinnicom/#comments Tue, 22 Apr 2008 09:05:06 +0000 Foxinni http://foxinni.com/?p=160 Foxinni PreviewI’m happy to announce that the new Foxinni.com is not far away. Taking everything that I’ve learn from Wordpress over the last two years and combining them into what will be the my new Foxinni.com.

Foxinni PreviewWithin a week you will able to see the following page as the new Homepage (Preview 190kb) of Foxinni.com. Making use of many of Wordpress’s “hidden” functions, I’ve grafted some very special pages, all which I’ll make a short write up about once my new theme is online.Included on the agenda will be a hot new Web Resource post, upgrading to Wordpress 2.5 and two special Free Wordpress Themes for the community. It’s going to be a busy two weeks for me, but I’m very excited.

As with anything getting updated online there will no doubt be stages of downtime or brokenness. But those problems hardly ever stick around for longer than the need to. Please stay tuned….

A Wii little something for myself http://foxinni.com/random/a-wii-little-something-for-myself/ http://foxinni.com/random/a-wii-little-something-for-myself/#comments Tue, 22 Apr 2008 06:00:52 +0000 Foxinni http://foxinni.com/?p=161 I used to be a big PC gamer, but as games evolve and subsequently, computers get outdated, I completely fell out of the loop. In some ways I’m glad because the world seems to move to fast, and time is too little to be playing hours on something that might leave you disappointed in the end. In an effort not to sound like a hypocrite, I confess to doing exactly that for several years of my life.

Getting back to my point. Being a gamer and someone who likes playing games with friends, a console seemed like the perfect answer. The games does not out date the console and there are no “Technical Issue”, be it a  Xbox, PS2 or PS3. I decided to spend a little of my hard earned cash by getting myself a Wii.

Right off the bat I was happy with it. It has a killer interface. The controls are easy to use and the starter games are great. Perfect for entertaining yourself or a few of your mates. The Wii tends to be full body experience and gives you an experience no other console could.

Along with a fresh new user experience, the Wii comes with built in wireless. That means you can play against friends by taking your console online or just plain keeping it up to date with the software updates. I’m am still to explore this in depth.

I shudder to thing how gripping some games could be with one dancing around violently in your lounge trying to defeat your enemy. I can’t wait! I’m such a Nintendo boy now.

Facebook knows who I might know… http://foxinni.com/facebook/facebook-knows-who-i-might-know/ http://foxinni.com/facebook/facebook-knows-who-i-might-know/#comments Fri, 18 Apr 2008 11:39:06 +0000 Foxinni http://foxinni.com/facebook/facebook-knows-who-i-might-know/ New Facebook FeaturesI rarely log into my Facebook account, merely because I find it to be huge black hole of information and over zealous features that sucks you in and leaves you an hour later with no sense of direction or what you were doing before you started.

So when I did log in I saw a nifty new facebook feature on the homepage. An box displaying people who you might know on in the sidebar of the Facebook Layout. This feature, is an algorithm that no doubt easily determines who are friends with lots of your friends and/or come from the same hometown.

Not a bad feature but, never the less it brings up those people you’ve been trying to ignore or people you rejected ages ago. Haha.
